Allagash Brewing Company: Emile 7.2%

When I saw Emile in the store I was excited to try it out seeing that it was aged in wine barrels. However, when I took my first sip I was disappointed. Not realizing that it was going to be a sour gave me a little bit of a shock. It was very tart with a taste of vinegar, oak, and grains. The smell brought in all of the notes with an added smell of cider. As for the color it was a very dark redish brown with medium grey head. I'm usually a fan of Allagash but unfortunately this time I was not.
